PERFECTLY IMPERFECT

Once discarded as technical “imperfections”, film burns have evolved into a signature element in the editing industry. By utilizing genuine film stock, we ensure each transition delivers high-chroma color profiles and true chemical grit and light-leak variance of film. Providing a tactile finish for editors who require an authentic, auteur-driven visual aesthetic to their edits.

For standard cinematic transitions, we recommend setting your blending mode to ‘Screen’ or ‘Lighten’ to accurately composite the light leaks over your base footage. For creators pursuing a high-contrast, avant-garde aesthetic, utilizing the ‘Difference’ or ‘Exclusion’ modes will yield aggressive, inverted tonal shifts. This modularity ensures the FILM BURNS assets remain as a flexible utility across Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Final Cut Pro.

Yes! FILM BURNS is engineered for universal compatibility across all major Non-Linear Editors (NLEs). This includes Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, CapCut Desktop, and After Effects. No external plugins are required!
Easy! These are native video assets, not plugins. Simply import the 4K .MOV files into your project and place them on the layer above your footage. To remove the black background and integrate the light, set your clip blending mode to Screen, Linear Dodge (Add), or Lighten. 😎
We utilize the Lasergraphics ScanStation to capture the maximum dynamic range and color depth of the physical film stock. While the delivery files are optimized at 4K (3840 x 2160), the 6.5K source ensures that the grain structure, chromatic halation, and chemical details remain sharp even when scaled or color-graded heavily.
